About Paradise Spreads
Paradise Spreads is a sweet, plant-based spread that’s allergen-friendly, gluten-free, and packed with pea protein.
Founder and CEO Emily Edwards created Paradise Spreads because she believes sweet treats bring families together — but she wanted a healthier, guilt-free option that is accessible for any child or adult with food allergies. Since 2018, Paradise Spreads has grown into a regional brand located in dozens of grocery stores with multiple flavors.
To make Paradise Spreads a billion dollar brand, Emily needed to stand out among the thousands of vendors at the annual Sweets & Snacks Expo.
The Conference Opportunity
The annual Sweets & Snacks Expo is a bonanza of the latest and greatest sweet and savory snacks. From well-known household brands to emerging startups, the event attracts hundreds of retail buyers and distributors who want to find the hottest new treat to add to their shelves.
But how would Paradise Spreads stand out against big names like Nutella or Reeces?
That’s where Five Four came in.
Event Strategy
Our objective was clear:
Generate as many leads as possible from buyers and distributors
Utilize the 10x10 Booth Space to our best abilities

To achieve this, we knew we needed to:
Create clear, consistent messaging across banners, back drops, and sales sheets
Consider every inch of the booth space to be a marketing opportunity
The brand we developed for Paradise Spreads is bright and vibrant, making you feel the palm trees and summer breeze as you enjoy the sweet spread. We leaned into color to help Emily stand out among lackluster brands.
“I want people to feel like they’re at Miami Beach,” Emily said. We knew just what to do.
Booth Activation
To begin, we:
Identified all functional, required items such as the concierge table and product display
Designed a 10’ back drop and pull up banner that highlight the most important value props and taglines
Created a list of items that would enhance the brand through the event, such as a big tropical umbrella, beach chairs, sea shells, and colorful fish nets
Developed sales sheet handouts, postcards, and catchy stickers as takeaways
The Result
Paradise Spreads left a lasting brand impression with buyers and distributors, ultimately resulting in more than 80 leads.
Attendees were immediately hit with Paradise’s brand when they turned to walk down her booth hallway.
In addition to generating leads, Paradise Spreads increased net new brand impressions among other CPG brands, leading to potential partnership opportunities.
